All-American Breakfast Bowl

Our favorite restaurant serves a killer brunch. Most of the places we like to go for breakfast or brunch serve breakfast bowls. The truth is, a breakfast bowl is not too hard to make, but you have to apply a little creativity to make the bowl something you actually WANT to assemble and eat. Call me lazy, call me too busy, whatever you think... but during the week it gets busy and we're often short on time so I use pre-cooked meats a lot in my breakfast bowls. It just gets the job done!
Here's a simple, all-american style bowl that I want to share with you.
FLANNEL ME THE RECIPE
All-American Breakfast Bowl
Serves 2 - Recipe by: Dave
7 SP per serving
Ingredients
1 pkg (4 patties) of fully cooked Jimmy Dean turkey sausage patties
4 eggs
2 slices of American cheese singles
2 c. Ore Ida frozen shredded hash browns
Cooking spray
On low heat, preheat a skillet for about a minute. Lightly spray the skillet and toss in your hash browns into an even layer. Cook as per package instructions (usually approximately 5-7 minutes). While these cook, you can whisk your eggs in a bowl or handled measuring cup and also take the sausage out of the package. If you have a second skillet, warm it up on low heat and give it a light spray of cooking spray. Pour your eggs in, waiting a good minute or two until doing anything with them. This is the key to them not sticking to the pan! Proceed with usual scrambled eggs cooking method, turning with a spatula as you desire. Once the hash browns are done, divide them in two servings and place them in the bottom of your bowls. Top each serving with a slice of cheese. Next, get the sausage cooking in the same pan that your hash browns were in (no need to wash that pan, it's all going in the same bowl anyway!) When the eggs are done, make 2 servings and transfer them into the bowl right on top of that cheesy hash brown base. When the sausage is browned on both sides, you can chop it up, leave it in patties, your choice! Top the eggs with the sausage and BAM! All-American Breakfast Bowl!
Tip: Low heat on the hash browns, be patient!
